New Administration Announced for 2012

Joe's Ride The Lehigh Valley Stars Chapter #386 of the STAR Touring and Riding Association would like to announce the election of a new President and Vice President for 2012. Joe Rittoper, Sergeant at Arms in 2011, will assume the post of President in 2012. At his side will be Mike Douglas, a Road Captain in 2011, as Vice President.

Additional post announcements will be made at the January 28, 2012 meeting. There will be several changes to the list of Chapter Officers for 2012, as some officers from 2011 will not be eligable.

Outgoing President, Marc Spinowitz, handed the "President's Patch" to Joe during the December 17, 2011 meeting at which Joe and Mike were elected. Marc wished the new President and Vice President well; he added that he will remain an active member of the chapter in 2012.

Miles of Smiles Ride 2011 Results

The Lehigh Valley Stars Chapter #386 of the STAR Touring and Riding Association, in conjunction with Tri-City Powersports of Allentown, PA and Scott Powersports of Coopersburg, PA are happy to announce that the Miles of Smiles Charity Motorcycle Ride & Barbecue held on Sunday, September 25, 2011 was a rousing success. Proceeds from the event were gathered to benefit the Children's Home of Easton.

The event will consisted of an approximately 70-mile ride through scenic Lehigh, Monroe and Northampton counties ending with a Barbecue at the Children's Home campus in Easton, PA. Entertainment was provided by Charlie Brown's Notorious Groove.

The event was able to raise a combined total of $12,101.57. On Thursday, October 6th, Marc Spinowitz, President of the Lehigh Valley Stars presented Steve Evans of the Children's Home a check for $7,560.92 at the Red Robin on Airport Road in Allentown. A total of $4,540.65 was collected in the form of checks written directly to the Children's Home.

After receiving the check, Steve said "I have been saying 'no' to the kids for things they wanted and needed; thanks to your efforts, tomorrow I can say YES!"

We would like to thank all those who donated cash or merchandise as well as those who attended the event! Your efforts will help brighten the lives of the kids supported by the Children's Home.

August Meeting Date Changed

July 24, 2011

At the July meeting it was announced that the August meeting will be moved as a large number of of members, including several officers and most Road Captains and Tail Gunners will be attending the Grey Ghost weekend. The meeting and post-meeting ride will now be held on Saturday, August 20th at the regular time. Please update you calendars appropriately.

Bike Night/Miles of Smiles Fundraiser

Red Robin, in conjunction with the Lehigh Valley Stars Chapter #386, will be hosting a Bike Night Fundraiser at the Red Robin on Airport Road in Allentown on August 4th. Everyone is invited to enjoy a good evening for a good cause. By bringing the this flyer to the event, 10% of your bill (not including alcohol or gratuities) will be donated to the Miles of Smiles event!

The event will be held at the Red Robin at 1875 Airport Road,Allentown, Pennsylvania (map) on Thursday, August 4th from 5pm to 10pm. Just bring your flyer and your appetite to help raise money for the Children's Home of Easton.

Members of the Lehigh Valley Stars Chapter #386 will be on hand all evening to discuss the Miles of Smiles event.
